"The Quaranzine: a collection of pandemic events & activities" is a small eight page zine I made a few months into the pandemic when I wanted to learn more about printmaking. I carved eight unique printing blocks for each of the pages of the zine, and each one depicts something which was important to my early experiences in the pandemic. Some pages are more generic, like making a lot of art, wanting to be “let out” of the house, and binge watching TV, in my case Grey’s Anatomy. Others are more specific, like “moths everywhere!”, since there seemed to be an invasion of moths in my house during quarantine. The fourth page shows a Parchís board, a Spanish board game which my mom insisted on us playing every single night. The page with a shower saying “miss you” was a comedic take on my lack of hygiene because I knew I wouldn’t be seeing anyone for months. I love this zine because it provides a snapshot of my life from March through June of 2020.
